Introduction

This is the privacy policy for the StayClose website at staycloseapp.co. StayClose is a long-distance friendship app that is still in development. This policy covers only the website you're reading now — what it collects, who it's shared with, and how you can have it deleted.

Who Controls Your Data

This website is operated by Griffin Anderson. For any question about your data or this policy, email hello@staycloseapp.co. There is no physical mailing address for this project — email is the way to reach us.

Information We Collect

We collect only what you give us directly, plus basic technical data about your visit:

  • Waitlist signup: your name and email address, if you join the waitlist
  • Contact form: your name, email address, subject, and message, if you write to us
  • Technical and analytics data: your IP address, browser/device type, and which pages you visit, collected automatically and cookielessly — it isn't tied to your name or email

We don't collect anything beyond what's listed above — no payment information, no physical address, nothing from social logins.

How We Use Your Information

  • Waitlist name and email: to send you one email when StayClose launches, plus occasional honest notes on how the build is going — nothing more
  • Contact-form details: to read and reply to your message
  • Technical/analytics data: in aggregate, to understand how many people visit the site and which pages are useful — not to identify you personally

Who We Share It With

We use a small number of outside services to run this website. Each only receives the data described:

  • Web3Forms — receives waitlist and contact-form submissions (name, email, and message) and relays them by email to the site owner's inbox
  • Vercel — hosts this website. Vercel Analytics processes technical data such as IP address to generate visit statistics, and does so cookielessly
  • The email provider that hosts our support inbox also handles the messages relayed from the forms above, the same as any other email sent to that inbox

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone for advertising.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies.

Data Security

This is a small, one-person project. We take reasonable steps to keep the data described above secure, and only pass it to the processors listed above — we don't maintain a larger team or share access beyond what's needed to run the site.

Your Choices

If you're in the EU, UK, or California, data protection law gives you rights over your data — to see it, correct it, delete it, or object to how it's used. The mechanism here is the same for all of them: email hello@staycloseapp.co. If you just want the emails to stop, reply to any one of them and we'll remove you immediately.

Legal basis: we only email you because you asked us to — waitlist and contact-form messages are sent on the basis of your consent, nothing else.

Cross-border processing: Web3Forms and Vercel may process your data on servers outside your country.

We otherwise keep waitlist and contact-form data only as long as it's useful for the purposes described above.

Scope of This Policy

This policy covers the StayClose website only. The StayClose app hasn't launched yet — when it does, it will have its own privacy policy.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy as the website changes. Any changes will be posted on this page, along with an updated "Last updated" date.
